Women's Riding Club Colors: Sublimated Back Patch, In Hand 9 Days After Approval

The order: a full set of club colors

The club came to us for everything a member wears on her vest. On the back: a top rocker and bottom rocker with the club name, an illustrated center patch of a woman rider under a full moon, and two side tabs, one reading "RC" for riding club and one with a crescent moon. Alongside the colors, they ordered officer tabs, road-name tabs for members, and a front chest patch with the club name.

Why sublimation and embroidery together

The center artwork is full of detail: the texture of the moon, shading on the rider's face and jacket, chrome on the handlebars and the scales of a snake wrapped around the bike. Thread can't reproduce that level of detail, so the center was sublimated, which prints the artwork directly into the fabric.

The border and all the lettering were embroidered on top. That gives the rockers and tabs the raised, classic look riders expect on their colors, while the artwork keeps every detail.

Officer and road-name tabs to match

The tabs were embroidered in the same blue border and white thread as the colors, so everything on the vest matches. Officer tabs read President, Vice President, Secretary and Original, and each member got a tab with her road name.

Approved September 13, on the vests September 22

The club approved the mockup on Sunday, September 13, and had their colors and tabs in hand on Tuesday, September 22: 9 days later, or 7 business days.
